Southey Court Official Opening

The sun shone down on 14th July 2021 for the official opening of Keswick Community Housing Trust’s (KCHT’s) latest achievement – the Southey Court development.
Southey Court represents the fourth project success story and takes the property tally to forty by the irrepressible and incredibly hardworking volunteer-led KCHT. The celebration involved a multitude of volunteers, professionals, local residents and organisations who have helped KCHT on their journey of making their dream become a reality.
Southey Court was made possible by Keswick Methodist Church providing KCHT with their old church hall at an affordable price that enabled the Trust to create a small development of four affordable properties for rent on the site.
Work began in October 2019 on the demolition of the church hall, at the back of Keswick Methodist Church, and the construction of three three-bed and one two-bed houses on the site. The properties are now fully occupied and we wish the new residents all the very best and watch with bated breath to see what KCHT might tackle next!
