Renewed Community Housing Fund Opens For Bids

6th September 2021
The moment many of us have been waiting for has arrived!
Community Led Homes have announced the Community Housing Fund Revenue Programme 2021/22. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has made £4 million available through the Community Housing Fund Revenue Programme 2021/22 to award grants to eligible community organisations in England (outside of the Greater London Authority area).
The Programme will help cover the revenue costs of project-specific activities that will support the development of community led housing proposals. The Programme is aimed at schemes which can prove their deliverability and are at the later stages of pre-development.
The grant will fund pre-development work so that schemes can complete the work required to progress the scheme towards;
• submitting a planning application, and/or
• submitting a capital funding bid, and/or
• getting to start on site.
The pre-development work funded must be completed by the end of March 2022 so we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible to maximise the time you have to spend the grant.
The Programme will not be suitable for groups who are just forming and need start-up support, or schemes that are at an early stage of pre-development.
To apply groups will need to fill in an eligibility checker as soon as possible on the Community Led Homes website, ideally by Thursday 30 September. If you are eligible to apply you will be emailed an online grant application form. Full guidance on the application process, who can apply and how can be found on the Community Led Homes website.
There will also be a webinar to talk groups through the application process and answer questions at 10.30am – 12pm on Thursday 16 September 2021. Register for the informational webinar here (see link at bottom of page).
The timescale for spending monies is incredibly tight but the Cumbria & Lancaster Community Led Housing Hub would like to see as many groups succeed as possible. If you have completed the eligibility checker and would like to proceed, please do get in touch with Fran Richardson at the Hub to see how we can support you: franrichardson@cumbriaaction.org.uk
