Inaugural Community Led Housing Festival!

The Cumbria & Lancaster Community Led Housing Hub kicked off their very first CLH Festival online on Wednesday 27th January 2021.
The Hub wishes to extend thanks to everyone who joined us at our inaugural CLH Festival of events and we hope all participants were able to take away something useful from the session(s) attended.
Topics ranged from refurbishment of empty buildings into happy homes; the technical detail of business planning and finances; and the almshouse model of housing for older people – and much more beyond. All of the events were recorded and links to these can be found below.
Fran Richardson, Cumbria & Lancaster CLH Hub Manager enthused: “We are seeing sparks of ideas and inspiration from both individuals and emerging community groups. This is really exciting to see and we are keen to harness these into real-life building projects, which the Hub will support wherever possible. These are not quick and easy projects, but the legacy and impact they can have on a community and wider area can be transformational.”
Lorrainne Smyth, ACT CEO observed: “It’s been really useful to attend some of the Community Led Housing Festival events and to see the enthusiasm and commitment from those participating. Locally managed and truly affordable housing is a key ingredient in sustaining the rural communities of Cumbria, as many of you have told ACT over the last couple of years.
